BODYATTACK is a group-fitness aerobics program, aimed at developing cardiovascular fitness, physical fitness, coordination and stamina. Les Mills International creates the program, with music and movements varied every 3 months. BODYATTACK combines athletic movements like running and jumping with strength exercises such as push-ups and squats. The worldwide standardized class either 55, 45 or 30 minutes in length is guided by an instructor who leads participants through various exercises to a contemporary music tracklist.
BODYATTACK is for all ages, abilities and fitness levels. There are always low mid and high impact options for all moves from which you can choose depending on your fitness level.
Since 2015 there are always 12 tracks for the 55 minutes class. For the 45 or 30 minute express variants some songs are shortened or removed completely.
The 55 minutes workout consists of the following tracks:
There is no equipment needed for BODYATTACK so all you need is comfortable workout clothes, a drink bottle and a towel. For some tracks a mat is recommended.
Les Mills recommends attending BODYATTACK 2 – 3 times per week, for great results.
According to Les Mills you can burn up to 730 calories per workout. In 2000 a study compered the energy expenditure during typical BODYATTACK, BODYSTEP, BODYCOMBAT and RPM classes. In this study the average energy expenditure was 660 calories for the male participants and 602 for the female participants.
